There is currently only one airline with regular flights into Lesotho from Johannesburg, this being SA Airlink. It operates twice-daily flights between OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Moshoeshoe I international Airport, just outside Maseru in Lesotho.

Alternative flights can be found to Bloemfontein, in the Free State Province of South Africa, after which a transfer of approximately 1 hour will get visitors to Maseru Bridge border post and into Maseru, Lesotho. There are numerous flights into Bloemfontein daily from Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. The carriers here include South Africa’s flagship, South African Airways, its affiliated low cost carrier, Mango, 1time Airlines, SA Airlink and SA Express.

There are a number of International Car Hire companies found in Lesotho able to supply normal vehicles, with some also able to supply 4 wheel drive vehicles. There are reportedly about 21 registered hotels in Lesotho although to-date a grading system has not yet being implemented. It is being considered by the authorities responsible for Tourism and when implemented, will assist visitors to make informed choices about the accommodation they select. Over and above these, there are a further 17 -18 guest houses, Bed & Breakfast and other lodges. Lesotho is also considering the introduction of what are termed “Home Stays”, and these are/will be prevalent primarily in the villages In and around Mafeteng.
