Camping in Lesotho
Visitors who come to Lesotho to do some camping generally bring their own equipment. Destination Lesotho is able to plan their routes, and if need be drop them off at points from where they can hike to their camping spots.

The best spots are usually near a clean stream or river, and here the water is drinkable. Campers can also swim and wash in these.

It is important to note that wherever one chooses to go camping, there is a local Chief. Visitors must meet the Chief or one of his principles before setting up camp. They will often point out the best places to camp, and generally ensure that the villagers and the numerous herd boys hidden in the mountains surrounding the spot do not disturb the visitors. A little ‘present’ often goes a long way.
